About the role:

There is an exciting opportunity for a Level 3 Senior Social Worker to join our dynamic team at the Wagga Base Hospital. We are looking for a clinician with a passion for engaging consumers in an Acute Hospital setting and working within a multidisciplinary team environment to provide evidence-based interventions.

As the Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical services to patient/client/consumer groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills and operate independently with minimal direct supervision.

  • Provide clinical supervision and support to Level 1/2 Social Workers, Allied Health Assistants & students on clinical placement as required.

  • Involvement in the planning, implementation and evaluation of services, development and leading of quality improvement activities and research with appropriate stakeholders.

  • Providing a range of high-level assessment and therapeutic services in their identified specialty area, within scope, according to relevant models of care, frameworks and priorities.

About You

Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  1. A degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Work (AASW)

  2. Advanced clinical reasoning skills and operate with minimal direct clinical supervision.

  3. Well-developed time management skills, written and verbal communication, and IT skills including an ability or willingness to use telehealth as a mode of delivery of clinical care.
