What you'll be doing
The Redevelopment Educator is responsible for supporting redevelopment-based education with the organization, including development, delivery and evaluation of programs and specific changes due to the new Sydney Children’s Hospital Stage 1 and Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (SCH1 & MCCCC) redevelopment.
 
A key responsibility of the Redevelopment Educator will be to to support, coordinate and provide implementation oversight to the identified services who are part of the SCH1/MCCC redevelopment.
 
The current Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Education Service training needs identification process identifies education that needs to be developed locally, and what is a hospital or network-wide education piece of work.
 
This role will support the more complex and systems-level education needs that are identified through the existing training needs process. Positional responsibility would also extend to developing and coordinating an orientation program for services, inclusive of fire/ local evacuation and simulation activity.
 
The position works with the SCH1 & MCCCC Redevelopment Team and liaises with a range of key stakeholders.
  1. A tertiary qualification in healthcare, education or working towards, or equivalent significant experience working within paediatric health care or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate education and training programs.
  3. Demonstrated effective leadership skills including ability to manage projects and prioritise competing demands and deadlines.
  4. Demonstrated evidence of the development of relevant education course or programs that incorporate the use of adult learning principles.
  5. Demonstrated evidence of high-level communication and negotiation skills with a diverse range of stakeholders to meet organisational priorities.
  6. Evidence of preparation of written submissions, reports and demonstrated skills in the use of Microsoft Office, Teams, PowerPoint.
  7. Interest and comprehension in the SCH1 & MCCCC redevelopment project, and willingness to work in a diverse working environment.
