What you'll be doing
In addition to these clinical activities, SCHN is leading globally significant research programs in organ transplantation and gene therapy, many collaboratively with other local health districts (LHDs), universities and medical research institutes (MRIs).
The Children’s Centre for Transplantation and Research (CCTR) aims to create a world class multi-disciplinary space that is not only transformational for children requiring organ transplantation, but also for those with conditions amenable to gene therapy.
The Project Manager is a newly created position within the CCTR at the SCHN, to drive establishment and implementation of the CCTR, and ensure a safe, fit for purpose, on time delivery of the initiative, to agreed scope, and within budget .
Primary responsibilities of the role are to:
Provide leadership and project management for the above initiative in relation to redevelopment and research matters.
Provide strategic and operational advice to the lead clinicians and researchers working on the project.

Tertiary qualifications in science or business and/or equivalent experience in a medical research or healthcare program delivery role
- Demonstrated experience in project management, developing and managing program budgets, implementing risk management plans and managing issues.
- Experience leading teams of varying expertise on major programs to deliver high quality, customer focussed outcomes
- Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to prioritise to meet defined time frames.
- Demonstrated advanced level analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to provide high level influencing, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively and develop strong working relationships within a multidisciplinary environment
- Exceptional written communication skills and demonstrated experience in developing high level pitch and strategy documents.
- Proven conflict and Risk Management experience - ability to work through issues and experience identifying, managing and communicating project risks
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project. Experience with NSW Health systems desirable.
