Your work will include providing specialist therapeutic support to children impacted by harmful sexualised behaviours, maintaining a trauma-informed caseload, and delivering care that respects and celebrates Aboriginal culture. You’ll also build trust through community outreach and empower non-Aboriginal clinicians with cultural guidance. What You'll be Doing
SWSLHD  operates it’s services on the lands of the Dharawal, Darug and Gundungurra lands and has a rich history of working alongside local Aboriginal communities and our districts Aboriginal Health Unit. We are a district that is committed to supporting you grow and develop your skills.
 
The Sexual Assault Service has an opportunity for a Female Sexual Assault worker who will provide therapeutic responses to children,  ad ults, families and groups (all ages and genders). This includes leading therapeutic practices in both individual and group settings. You will be provided with professional development opportunities, cultural supervision, opportunities to participate in cultural strengths mapping and you will be part of a larger, supportive Aboriginal workforce.
 
This position will have a professional development plan in place that will provide the opportunity for work based development which allows for progression through the Award levels in accordance with the incumbent's skill acquisition.

 

Where You'll Be Working 
SWSLHD Primary & Community Health provides a comprehensive range of community-based services designed to improve and maintain the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities across South Western Sydney.

 

These services include prevention, early intervention, assessment, acute and post-acute treatment, health maintenance, and continuing care. The team supports diverse populations, offering specialised programs for children, young people, older adults, and at-risk communities.

 

With over 800 dedicated staff, including Aboriginal Health Workers, nurses, doctors, and allied health professionals, the service ensures high-quality care close to where people live.

  1. Tell us about your mob and connection to culture.
  2. Degree in Social Work, Psychology or other relevant counselling degree deemed appropriate by employer or completion in in the ECAV pathway, with demonstrated cultural expertise.
  3. Are you a registered clinician with experience in youth mental health or trauma-informed care, ready to deliver culturally safe interventions that disrupt cycles of disadvantage for young people in SWSLHD?
  4. Do you have the clinical expertise and collaborative mindset to support clients and their families through early intervention, working alongside community partners as part of the Safe Wayz initiative?
  5. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
