With tree-lined streets, rich arts culture, stunning seasonal changes and a relaxed pace of life, it offers the perfect blend of lifestyle and opportunity. You’ll be joining our bustling Surgical Ward—a dynamic, fast-paced unit where no two days look the same. Our team is large, multicultural, friendly and proudly collaborative. We value respect, clear communication and commitment to exceptional patient care. This is a place where you’re supported, included, and encouraged to bring your best.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse in our Surgical Ward, you’ll be the steady, supportive presence patients and families rely on. Your role is all about warm, person-centred care and bringing clarity, consistency and compassion to every shift.
You’ll help patients make informed decisions about their treatment, ensure care plans are safe and culturally respectful, and keep everyone—patients, families and the multidisciplinary team—on the same page. Even on the busiest days you’ll be the calm in the chaos, balancing competing priorities while delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care.
Daily tasks include:
Administering medications safely and accurately
Delivering high-quality, evidence-based surgical nursing care
Assisting with or providing personal care
Coordinating with patients, families and the MDT for effective care planning and safe discharges
About You
You’re a Registered Nurse with strong clinical instincts, a steady presence under pressure, and a genuine passion for patient care. You thrive in fast-paced environments, value teamwork, and bring a proactive, compassionate approach to every shift.
You’ll be a great fit if you bring:
Strong clinical knowledge and sound decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The ability to collaborate effectively in a busy surgical team
Resilience, adaptability and confidence in a fast-moving environment
A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
A patient-centred, respectful and empathetic approach
Surgical experience is desirable but not essential—some skills can be learned on the job. What’s non-negotiable is your commitment to safe, high-quality patient care.
How You’ll Be Supported
You’ll be supported by approachable, caring leaders including a Clinical Nurse Educator and Nurse Manager who are committed to your development. You’ll receive:
A thorough virtual and face-to-face orientation
Access to ongoing professional development, training and study days
Regular opportunities for feedback, growth and honest communication
A team that celebrates achievements, milestones, morning teas and the occasional fun theme day
This is an environment where you’re encouraged to keep expanding your skills while knowing you’re backed every step of the way.
