About the role - Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse within the Oncology Treatment Unit, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a dynamic outpatient setting. Your responsibilities will include the safe and effective administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood and blood products, as well as proficient vascular access management.

You will contribute to the coordination and scheduling of patient treatment appointments and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure optimal clinical outcomes and an exceptional patient experience.

The treatment room operates between 0730 and 1700 hours, with staggered start times of 0730, 0800, and 0830. Our model of care is based on patient allocation; however, flexibility, adaptability, and strong teamwork are essential to support a successful and efficient shift.

The successful applicant will be well supported by the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), and a highly experienced nursing team. You will be responsible for maintaining current mandatory training requirements and will be actively encouraged and supported to engage in ongoing professional development and education opportunities.

Where you'll be working:

Set along the picturesque Manning River, Manning offers a serene escape with its lush landscapes, tranquil waterways, and a welcoming community vibe, all while providing easy access to pristine beaches and the beauty of New South Wales coast.

Manning Cancer Service is a dedicated outpatient service operating Monday to Friday during morning shifts. We pride ourselves on a strong, collaborative team culture, united in delivering the highest standard of care and achieving the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Our unit features six treatment chairs, with the oncology treatment room also supporting a two-chair Infusion Lounge seamlessly integrated within the same space.

The multidisciplinary team includes three Medical Oncologists, a Haematologist, four Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNCs), a Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE), alongside Allied Health professionals and Clerical support staff.

We are further supported by a valued team of Cancer Council Volunteers who provide compassionate assistance and enhance the patient experience within the treatment room.
