Be rewarded with up to $10,000 in the first 12 months PLUS up to $5,000 each year thereafter in fortnightly payments under the Rural Health Workforce Incentive Scheme.*
Where You'll Be Working
At Muswellbrook Hospital, you'll find more than just your next nursing role-you'll find a team that's genuinely invested in your success.
As a Registered Nurse, you'll begin your journey in our General Ward, caring for a diverse mix of medical and surgical patients while building a strong clinical foundation. From there, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a range of specialty areas, including Emergency, Perioperative Services, Renal, and the Infusion Unit, with structured education and support every step of the way.
Whether you're passionate about emergency nursing, theatre, renal care or another specialty, we'll work with you to explore your interests and help create a pathway towards the career you want. We believe in growing our own talent and providing meaningful opportunities for nurses to broaden their experience without leaving their community.
Our team
Our team is known for its welcoming, collaborative culture, where everyone is supported to learn, ask questions and continue developing. You'll be backed by experienced Nurse Unit Managers, Clinical Nurse Educators, supportive colleagues and 24/7 Medical Officer coverage, ensuring you always have the guidance you need to thrive.
About the Role
Working on a flexible rotating roster, you'll initially provide high-quality, patient-centred care within the General Ward before having the opportunity to expand your practice into other clinical areas, including:

Perioperative Services – Theatre, Anaesthetics, PACU and Day Surgery.
Renal Unit – Haemodialysis day services.
Infusion Unit – Delivering specialised therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products and iron infusions.
You'll work closely within a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, evidence-based care while developing confidence across a variety of clinical settings. Your transition into each specialty is supported through comprehensive orientation, supernumerary shifts, ongoing education, mentorship and regular professional development opportunities, giving you the confidence to build new skills throughout your career.

You will have:

A positive, adaptable and patient-focused approach to care.
A commitment to delivering high-quality, holistic healthcare.
