About the role:
Join our team in a leave relief position, stepping in to support colleagues while they’re on leave. This means your weeks may look a little different each time, perfect for someone who enjoys variety and new challenges. You’ll work across community and palliative care settings, supporting clients with complex needs including wound management, post-acute care, aged care, continence, and palliative care. At times, you may also assist the palliative care team with overnight on-call telephone support, helping provide guidance when it’s needed most.

About you:
Registered Nurse with current authority to practice with AHPRA, with no restrictions for handling scheduled medications
Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel is essential.
Flexible and comfortable working within a 7-day service model
Surgical experience or a strong interest in wound care, continence, post-acute care, or palliative care
Enjoys variety, change, and working independently in the community
Keen to learn - we welcome nurses who are new to community nursing and ready to grow their skills
Minimum 2 years’ experience in acute care (desirable) to support independent practice with complex clients and high-risk medications
Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with clients, families, and service providers
About the team:
The Nelson Bay Community and Specialist Palliative Care Nursing team is based at Tomaree Community Hospital Campus alongside the Health Centre. We’re a small, supportive team covering the Tomaree Peninsula and surrounding areas, providing both hands-on care and specialist palliative advice. We’re proud of the care we deliver to our community and are looking for a like-minded nurse to join us.
