Where you’ll be working

You’ll join the Dungog Community Nursing Team, operating out of East Maitland Community Health Service and providing care into Dungog and surrounding areas in the Hunter region. You’ll work within a warm, supportive multidisciplinary team that values collaboration, connection and person-centred practice. This role offers the best of rural charm and strong community spirit, with Dungog’s friendly small-town feel and easy access to Newcastle’s beaches and Hunter Valley wineries.

About the role

As a Registered Nurse – Community Health, you’ll manage your own community caseload, delivering generalist nursing care in patients’ homes and ensuring safe, coordinated support. Your work will include wound care, catheter management, chronic disease support and medication assistance, along with thorough documentation and clear communication to maintain continuity of care. Each day brings variety as you visit patients across the region, liaise with medical and allied health colleagues, and contribute directly to local wellbeing in an autonomous, highly rewarding role.

About you

You’re a dedicated, compassionate Registered Nurse who enjoys autonomy, meaningful long-term patient relationships and the diversity of community practice. You might be an experienced community nurse or a hospital RN ready for a new challenge, but you share a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

You bring:

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Strong clinical skills in wound care, catheter management and chronic disease support
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a community caseload with confidence
  • Excellent communication, documentation and interpersonal skills
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel locally between homes and sites
  • Passion for community-based care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
