The Maitland Hospital are seeking an enthusiastic Child and Family Nurses who take initiative and have the ability to work well as part of a team.


About the role:

Deliver safe, culturally responsive, and person-centred care in partnership with clients, families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team to support the achievement of identified health goals. In this role, you will collaborate with other Child and Family Health Nurses to provide a mix of clinic-based services and home visits, including postnatal home visits within the first two weeks following birth.

You will assess the developmental progress of children aged 0 to 5 years, using recognised developmental milestones to guide your evaluations.

Acting as an advocate, you will support clients and their families/carers in making informed decisions regarding their health and wellbeing. This includes ensuring they understand clinical interventions and service delivery processes, and making timely, appropriate referrals to help them achieve their goals.

The successful candidate will receive comprehensive orientation and training in Child and Family Health Nursing. Ongoing support will be provided by the Clinical Nurse Consultant (Child and Family), the Nurse Unit Manager, and a team of experienced Child and Family Health Nurses.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Registration as a registered Nurse with AHPRA.
  • Child and Family Health Qualifications.
  • Eligible to drive in NSW with a current drivers licence.
