Ambulatory Services at the Sydney Children's Hospital, Westmead is looking for dynamic and experienced paediatric Registered Nurses to join their team on a temporary basis. Ambulatory Services includes Turner Day Stay Unit, Hospital in the Home (HITH), and the Acute Review Clinic (ARC). Together we provide specialist care to a variety of patients including those with chronic conditions and children that are acutely unwell. The successful applicants will have the unique opportunity to work across all the Ambulatory Services and will have the opportunity to gain experience and skill development in the evolving models of Ambulatory care. Previous experience in Ambulatory Services or Hospital in the Home is preferred, but not essential. This recruitment is for 2 temporary, full-time positions, one ending November 2026 and one ending March 2027.

 

What you'll be doing
The Registered Nurse provides safe, compassionate, person-centred care to patients and families of Sydney Children’s Hospital Network. 

The Registered Nurse acts as a role model by demonstrating behaviour and interacting with patients, their families and employees in a way that promotes a culture and standards that reflect the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness , Respect and Empowerment.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Recent clinical experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting.
  5. Effective time management skills
  6. Computer literacy.
  7. Capacity to work a seven (7) day rotating roster including public holidays and reasonable overtime.
  8. Current NSW Drivers’ Licence
