Remuneration: $81,748.16 - $114,771.98 per annum / pro rata for part time hours ( + Superannuation)
Hours Per Week: up to 38 (Job Share may be negotiated for part time hours)

The General Medical Aged Care Ward (B4C) at Westmead Hospital is a dynamic inpatient unit providing high-quality care to older people with acute medical conditions and patients with complex healthcare needs. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll care for patients requiring comprehensive medical management, support for cognitive changes, and compassionate end-of-life care.

What you'll be doing

 

As a Registered Nurse, you'll provide safe, evidence-informed and person-centred nursing care that promotes the best possible health outcomes for patients. Working collaboratively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team, you'll assess, plan, implement and evaluate care while contributing to continuous quality improvement across the ward.

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation for patients with complex medical and aged care needs.

  • Monitor patient progress, maintain accurate clinical documentation and provide timely, culturally responsive care.

  • Collaborate with medical, allied health and nursing colleagues to achieve positive patient outcomes.

  • Support and mentor Enrolled Nurses, Assistants in Nursing and colleagues while promoting evidence-based practice.

  • Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety initiatives and a positive team culture aligned with NSW Health values.

  • Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation  Agency (AHPRA) 

 

Selection Criteria:

  1. Recent relevant experience in clinical setting as deemed appropriate by WSLHD

  2. Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients

  3. Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail

  4. Evidence of computer literacy and understanding of relevant health related information systems
