Where you’ll be working
Based in Newcastle, the Greater Newcastle Acute Care Team is a highly supportive specialist mental health service focused on helping adults through acute episodes without the need for hospital admission. You’ll be part of a close-knit, multidisciplinary team that genuinely looks out for one another—working across home visits, telehealth, phone support, and clinic appointments to deliver care where it’s needed most.

As a Registered Nurse within the Acute Care Team, you’ll play a vital role in delivering timely, high-quality mental health care during critical moments. This is a dynamic and rewarding position where your clinical skills directly contribute to stabilising individuals in crisis and supporting them safely within the community.

About you
You’re a compassionate and capable Registered Nurse who thrives in fast-paced environments and values teamwork and support. You bring a strong foundation in mental health care, with the ability to communicate effectively during high-pressure situations and build trust with patients and their families.
Your key strengths include:
Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
A valid NSW driver’s licence for community-based care
Clear, confident communication, especially in crisis situations
Adaptability and resilience in acute mental health settings
A collaborative mindset, working seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams
