Our service offers specialist drug and alcohol doctors, nurses and allied health staff who respect the client's right to choose from a range of treatments offered with our services underpinned by a philosophy of harm reduction.
Nepean Hospital’s Drug and Alcohol Service is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Nurse to join our dynamic Intake Team. This role involves coordinating clinical care for individuals seeking support for substance use, managing a high volume of client activity, and responding to enquiries from families, clients, and external agencies.
As the first point of contact, the Intake and Triage Nurse assess risk and facilitates timely access to treatment pathways that reduce harm, prevent missed opportunities, and improve health outcomes. - Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) including completion of new graduate RN program and or experience as a registered Nurse.
- Comprehensive understanding of substance use disorders, treatment and harm minimisation principles.
- Demonstrated experience working with people presenting with an acute drug and alcohol problem.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to exercise clinical judgement.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and proven ability to work autonomously.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.
- Current NSW Drivers license and the willingness to use for work purposes.
