About the Opportunity
The Registered Midwife is responsible for the promotion of health & wellbeing of all women, through the delivery of optimal, safe & cost effective quality midwifery care within Maternity.
This role is for registered Midwives who will rotate throughout Maternity and may include Antenatal Clinic, Antenatal Assessment Unit, Postnatal Ward, Antenatal Ward and Birthing Unit.

We have recently moved into a new Birthing Unit, Antenatal Ward, NICU and Antenatal Assessment Unit, with a new Postnatal and Antenatal Ward under construction.

This advertisement is also open to Registered Nurses who are about to complete their midwifery training, awaiting their registration and wanting a transition to professional practice for a Registered Midwife Program (TPP). Please note that the minimum accepted hours for TPP placements is 32 hours per week for the first year. New graduate midwives will attend 5 transitional midwifery education days as a mandatory component of their transition program.

What you'll be doing
The midwife is a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with women to give the necessary support, care and advice during pregnancy, labour and the postpartum period, to conduct births on the midwife's own responsibility and to provide care for the newborn and the infant.
