Remuneration: $36.38 - $51.08 per hour
Hours Per Week: 38 (Job Share may be considered for part time hours)

What you'll be doing 
As a Registered Midwife – Pacific Communities, you’ll provide woman-centred, evidence-based maternity care to Pacific women and families. You’ll work in partnership with the Pacific Health Hub team and mainstream maternity services to ensure seamless, culturally appropriate support.

  • Deliver antenatal, postnatal, and (where appropriate) intrapartum care.

  • Link families to the Pacific Health Hub and other essential services.

  • Promote healthy lifestyles and provide education on infant care.

  • Support community engagement and development initiatives.

  • Foster trust and build strong relationships within Pacific communities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Registered Midwife 

  • Registration: Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) as a Registered Midwife (division 1)


Selection Criteria:

  1. In this role, being a woman is also a genuine occupational qualification as authorised by Section 31 respectively of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977, NSW.

  2. Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) as a Registered Midwife (Division 1).

  3. Demonstrated extensive experience and clinical skill as a registered midwife and demonstrated commitment to woman-centred midwifery care and awareness of cultural respect and sensitivity.

  4. Demonstrated understanding of issues impacting on Pacific Communities including demonstrated understanding the of the unique medical, physical, social and emotional issues in people from Pacific Communities as it relates to maternal and infant health.

  5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Pacific communities’ cultures and have knowledge of and / or links with local Pacific communities.

  6. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of continuity of carer/primary health care models of midwifery care in addition to an explicit understanding of strengths-based philosophy.

  7. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as a member of a multidisciplinary team with demonstrated effective teamwork and communication skills and demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work.

  8. Current Driver's Licence valid in NSW and willingness to use for work purposes.
