Achieve Something Great 
The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) midwife is a permanent full-time role supporting women and improving access for vulnerable women in the Fairfield LGA.

  • Deliver meaningful, relationship-based care by supporting women and families through pregnancy, birth and early parenting, with a focus on those experiencing increased vulnerability and complex life circumstances 
  • Be part of a dedicated Midwifery Group Practice team within Fairfield, working alongside passionate midwives and multidisciplinary partners to provide personalised, continuous care that puts women at the centre 
  • Contribute to a model that prioritises compassion, advocacy, respect and empowerment, ensuring every woman feels supported, heard and safe throughout her care journey 
  • Work in a collaborative and supportive environment, partnering with social work, mental health, Aboriginal health, child and family health and community services to strengthen outcomes for women and babies 
  • Grow your practice in an innovative and evolving service, with opportunities to build skills in trauma-informed care, psychosocial assessment and continuity of care within a diverse and community minded maternity service

  • Works collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, valuing shared decision-making and coordinated care 
  • Shows adaptability and resilience, responding effectively to changing clinical situations and psychosocial complexity 
 

Selection Criteria

  • Describe your experience in providing care to women with complex psychosocial needs. How do you ensure care is safe, respectful and responsive to individual circumstances?
  • How do you build and maintain therapeutic relationships with women while working within a team-based continuity of care model? Provide an example of how you have collaborated with other services to support a woman’s care.
  • Provide an example of how you have used active listening and communication skills to support a woman or family experiencing distress or vulnerability
  • How do you manage competing priorities and maintain attention to detail when coordinating care for women with complex needs?
