About the Opportunity:
Join Our Midwifery Team at Liverpool Hospital – Birthing, Postnatal & Antenatal Wards
Liverpool Hospital is expanding its maternity services and we’re looking for passionate Registered Midwives to join our Birthing Unit, Postnatal Ward, and Antenatal Ward. Whether you're drawn to the dynamic pace of birthing care, the nurturing environment of postnatal support, or the complexity of antenatal care for high-risk pregnancies, we have a place for you in our multidisciplinary team. You’ll be part of a collaborative, woman-centred service that values compassion, clinical excellence, and continuous learning.
You’ll have access to advanced training like iPROMPT, and the opportunity to work in a brand-new, purpose-built birthing facility. Our postnatal ward provides a supportive space for families transitioning to home life, while our antenatal ward delivers specialised care to women with complex pregnancies. Across all areas, you’ll be supported by experienced colleagues and encouraged to grow professionally in a positive, inclusive environment.
If you're a skilled and motivated midwife ready to make a meaningful impact, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and become part of a team that’s shaping the future of maternity care in South Western Sydney.
What We Offer:
Leading Maternity Care: Join one of NSW’s top maternity and birthing facilities, offering diverse models of care and strong support for midwifery development.
Outstanding Birth Outcomes: We have the highest rate of vaginal births and the lowest caesarean rate among Level 6 services in Australia.
Centre of Excellence: As a Level 6 tertiary referral hospital, we provide specialist care for complex pregnancies, with referrals from across NSW.
Teaching & Research Focus: Be part of a major teaching hospital with active research programs and evidence-based practice.
Woman-Centred Approach: Deliver holistic, personalised care that supports women and families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal journey.
Where You'll Be Working:
Liverpool Hospital is undergoing a $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct, one of NSW’s largest infrastructure projects. This transformation will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and position the hospital as a global hub for medical innovation.
The redevelopment aims to meet the growing healthcare needs of South Western Sydney, while also boosting the local economy. A new multi-storey car park, completed in 2022, added 500 additional parking spaces to support the hospital's increasing capacity.
The hospital, a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, provides a wide range of services including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. With 23 operating theatres and space for 877 beds, Liverpool Hospital is a major healthcare provider for the region.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, it is easily accessible by public transport and near local amenities.
