About the role
We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Regional Pharmacist to join our established Tamworth Hospital Pharmacy team. Ideally based onsite in Tamworth (with some flexibility for candidates within the wider region), this senior role offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy services across rural hospitals throughout the Hunter New England North West.
You’ll work across a diverse patient population, navigating unique regional challenges - from complex clinical presentations to logistical considerations - while ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred medication management.
What you’ll be doing
In this varied and rewarding role, you will:
- Provide and coordinate clinical pharmacy services, delivering expert medication advice and governance support across multiple rural sites
- Partner closely with Health Service Managers, nursing, and medical staff to strengthen medication safety and governance frameworks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support holistic patient care
- Contribute to the strategic direction of clinical pharmacy services across the region the SDPR program and expanding virtual care initiatives
- Participate in regional Medication Safety and Drug & Therapeutics Committees, influencing policy, procedures, and AMS services
- Support and mentor technicians and junior pharmacists as a senior member of the Tamworth pharmacy team

Requirements:
- Registered as a Pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated experience and competency consistent with the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award.

To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
