What you'll be doing
An opportunity exists for a Radiographer to join the Breast Cancer Institute, delivering screening mammography as part of the BreastScreen NSW program. You will perform high-quality mammograms in accordance with national standards while providing compassionate, person-centred care to women across Western Sydney. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to early breast cancer detection, quality assurance, and continuous service improvement. BCI offers a supportive environment with ongoing professional development and specialised breast imaging training. This role is ideal for radiographers committed to clinical excellence and improving women’s health outcomes through early detection.
As a Radiographer Level 2, you will demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in mammography and breast imaging, delivering high-volume, high-quality diagnostic and screening services in line with national standards.
Your role will include:
Performing all aspects of mammography and breast imaging with technical excellence
Participating in quality assurance programs to meet BreastScreen Australia standards
Maintaining accurate patient data in RIS/PACS and BIS systems
Collaborating effectively with radiologists and multidisciplinary health professionals
Supporting service improvement, compliance, patient safety and work health standards
About you
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Diagnostic Radiography) or equivalent
Current AHPRA registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner
NSW EPA Radiation Licence (IA14)
Experience in mammography (highly regarded) and knowledge of quality assurance processes
Strong communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
You are organised, adaptable and capable of working independently while contributing positively to a high-performing team. A commitment to completing (or working towards) a Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography within 12 months is essential.

Essential Requirement:
Qualification: Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science – Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
Registration: Registered with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA)
License: NSW EPA Radiation Licence IA14
Selection Criteria:
High level customer service skills and Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients
Excellent time management and organisation skills with attention to detail and Ability to work with minimal supervision and use initiative
Highly developed communication with working in a multidisciplinary team and other health professionals
Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues and problem solving, Understanding of the management of patient complaints and patient privacy
Experience in mammography with knowledge of quality assurance would be desirable. Maintaining high quality imaging, performing over 50% of Perfect and Good imaging, keep below the Repeat Rate (2%) and Technical Recall Rate of all imaging.
Ability to assist in training others (give orientation and be able to supervise when required)
Working towards completing Certificate of Clinical Proficiency in Mammography certificate or willing to obtain within 12 months of starting
