What you'll be doing
As the Quality and Safety Nurse Manager, you’ll lead, guide, and influence safety and quality practices within the Emergency Department. You’ll provide expert consultancy, oversee incident management, and embed a proactive safety culture that supports clinical excellence.
Lead and coordinate ED quality and safety programs and initiatives
Support harm review processes and implementation of SAER recommendations
Provide education and coaching to staff on safety standards and improvement
Collaborate with facility and district teams to align Q&S strategies
Analyse and interpret data to inform risk management and decision-making

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications: post graduate qualification in a specialty area and/or leadership/management experience (as deemed appropriate by the Western Sydney Local Health District).
Registration: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a post graduate qualification in a specialty area and/or leadership/management experience (as deemed appropriate by the Western Sydney Local Health District).
Selection Criteria:
Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with a post graduate qualification in a specialty area and/or leadership/management experience (as deemed appropriate by the Western Sydney Local Health District).
Demonstrated understanding of the quality and safety and risk management in the ED and ability to enable safety culture
Understanding of professional subcultures within the health care system and demonstrated ability to design and deliver project outcomes that both challenge and create balance with those competing viewpoints
Demonstrated understanding of change management and influences, a track record in project management and the ability to deliver outcomes within specified timeframes
Highly developed and proven communication skills that include coaching, conflict resolution, mediation, delegation and negotiation skills and the ability to write reports of a high standard
Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use a variety of computer applications (e.g. word processing, Excel, databases and Intranet)
Understanding of, and commitment to the effective and meaningful engagement of clinicians in the decision-making process that impacts on positive patient outcomes
