What you'll be doing
This role provides inpatient-based psychological care to adults admitted with chronic and complex mental illness, cognitive impairment and behavioural challenges.
You will work as part of a multidisciplinary inpatient team, contributing to assessment, formulation, care planning and transition planning in a recovery oriented environment.
This role offers strong collegial support within an established psychology team and exposure to complex inpatient mental health presentations.
In this role you will:
• Provide evidence based psychological assessment and intervention to adult inpatients
• Conduct psychometric assessments and prepare psychological reports and behaviour support plans
• Deliver individual and group interventions using evidence-based approaches
• Participate in inpatient multidisciplinary care, risk assessment and transition planning
• Collaborate with consumers, families, carers and relevant services
 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

 

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. A minimum 3 year degree with a 4th year honours in psychology; or an equivalent qualification, full general registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated experience working with adults experiencing chronic and complex mental illness, including delivering evidence based psychological interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, DBT, IPT, MI or similar), conducting psychometric assessments, and preparing psychological reports.
  3. High level verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary inpatient mental health setting.
