Liverpool Hospital is recruiting for a Clinical Research Fellow to complement and enhance the current Obstetrics and Maternal Fetal Medicine department.

Where You'll Be Working
Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.
The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.
Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.
Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the University of NSW and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.
Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.
What you'll be doing
This clinical research fellowship is designed to enable the successful candidate to develop clinical and academic skills in obstetrics and obstetric ultrasound.
The candidate will have an opportunity: -
- To acquire transitional experience from an obstetrics & gynaecology specialist to a high-risk maternal fetal medicine (HRMFM) specialist, consistent with CMFM RANZCOG training requirements.
- To participate and appreciate how to optimise Multi-Disciplinary Team clinical management in order to provide continuity of care and optimise outcomes.
- To promote HRMFM in the teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff, research (clinical or bench-top).
- To participate in continuing medical education (CME) and quality assurance (QA) programs.

- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Satisfactory performance in a minimum of three years of RANZCOG ITP.
- Demonstrated excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise, along with demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management and an interest and willingness to teach Junior Medical Staff and research.
- Experience with obstetric patients with medical disorders in a tertiary hospital outpatient department.
- Demonstrated commitment to Maternal Fetal Medicine.
