What you'll be doing
The primary purpose of the position is to provide quality obstetric and gynaecological care to patients in a complex clinical environment whilst developing higher professional maturity and professionalism during the RANZCOG Advanced Training Program, with the goal of obtaining FRANZCOG. Provisional Fellow will, under an appropriate level of supervision by senior staff as approved by the RANZCOG, evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to female patients of presenting in any condition or stage of pregnancy or the puerperium; and female patients presenting with illnesses, injuries and disorders of the gynaecological or genitourinary system. 

 

  1. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.
  2. Completion of 4 years of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and successful completion of the FRANZCOG Fellowship exam by commencement of the contract or equivalent and be accredited for Elective FRANZCOG training.
  3. Sufficient clinical experience in order to undertake the clinical duties for clinical rotations, and proficiency in basic and advanced life support.
  4. Advanced ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team across facilities in the planning, delivery, coordination of patient care and participate in 24 hr shift work roster. Advanced communication skills, including the ability to convey, and adapt verbal and written information to a clinical and non-clinical audience
  5. Advanced good organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
  7. Advanced independent clinical skills and judgement, with the ability to make sound decisions and problem solve with an awareness of limitations and ability to learn independently and modify behaviour accordingly.
  8. Previous experience in and willingness to deliver undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.
