About this role
You'll be joining the largest public health system in Australia and contribute to a world-class health system in NSW.
The Centre for Population Health (CPH) aims to promote health and prevent morbidity and mortality caused by modifiable risk factors. The CPH portfolio encompasses blood borne viruses, sexual health, tobacco and obesity. The strategies used to address these issues include statewide policy and planning, legislation and regulation, program development, resource allocation, performance monitoring, research and evaluation.
The CPH works closely with service provider organisations such as Local Health Districts (LHDs) to manage and support the local delivery of agreed policies, programs and services across the state. Programs and services funded by the CPH are delivered in government, non-government, community and clinical settings.
The CPH approach is characterised by a focus on evidence-informed programmatic and system-level interventions that improve health, reduce health inequity, create healthy environments, promote community action, enable personal health-seeking and recognise the social determinants of good health.
This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference at a population level. A heathy diet and being active is associated with better health, education and wellbeing outcomes. NSW Health has successfully delivered evidence-based healthy eating and active living programs for over 15 years. In this role, you will work closely with sector partners to modernise and continuously improve these programs to ensure that the implementation approach remains effective, equitable, feasible and acceptable.
The Project Officer is responsible for managing projects related to the delivery of these programs.
Crown Clerk 7/8, starting salary from $116,981 - $129,492 plus Super and annual leave loading, with a 35-hour work week.
While regular office presence is essential at our St Leonards office, we offer flexible work arrangements to support your needs.

What you'll be doing
Building and maintaining strong and effective working relationships with colleagues across sectors and within NSW Health
Scoping, planning and managing the delivery of the agreed program of work within required timeframe and budget
Analysing evidence, data and stakeholder views to provide strategic advice to senior decision makers
Contributing to the evaluation and monitoring of prevention programs, including the analysis and reporting of data
Working collaboratively, flexibly, and effectively across the healthy eating and active living teams in CPH to implement statewide prevention programs.
About you
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with:
Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating chronic disease prevention programs, applying theory, evidence, innovative technologies, and strategic partnerships.
Demonstrated organisational skills, the capacity to successfully complete several tasks concurrently and to achieve outcoming against competing deadlines.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate complex information clearly and concisely for diverse audiences
Demonstrated ability to use and interpret data to prepare complex reports and submissions, which include reporting data
The ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, and work flexibly across program areas within the Centre for Population Health if required.
