About The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to lead one of New South Wales’ most transformative health infrastructure projects—an ambitious initiative that will redefine care delivery for a rapidly growing and diverse community. You’ll oversee every phase of the project—from strategic planning and design through to procurement, construction, and commissioning—ensuring alignment with NSW Health infrastructure standards, budgets, and timelines. Working closely with the SWSLHD executive team, clinical leaders, and Health Infrastructure NSW, you’ll drive collaboration across a multidisciplinary team of planners, architects, engineers, and advisors.

What You'll Be Doing
Responsible to the Associate Director Operations & Redevelopment, Capital Works & Infrastructure. Project Director Bankstown Hospital Health Neighbourhood will assume a leadership role for the redevelopment of Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital Community Services by providing expert advice on project planning, change management matters, strategies and solutions. They will achieve this through liaising with expert best practice sources within South Western Sydney LHD in partnership with Health Infrastructure and other external Project Managers.
The Project Director Bankstown Hospital Health Neighbourhood will work in collaboration with the Bankstown-Lidcombe General Manager, local Executive Leadership Team, Redevelopment Team and other key stakeholders to lead all aspects of the Bankstown Hospital new build & redevelopment of the existing site. This includes coordinating all activities required to ensure the successful project completion, improvements to models of care and the safe provision of patient care through all stages of the project.

- Demonstrated experience in large scale health infrastructure or redevelopment projects, including the provision of expert advice on project planning, change management strategies, commissioning plan & decant management.
Proven ability to effectively engage and collaborate with clinical networks, executive leadership, government agencies, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with governance structures, service delivery goals, and evolving models of care.
Highly developed communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to act as the primary liaison point, facilitate user consultation, and manage project outcomes with autonomy, initiative, and enthusiasm.
Strong understanding of health system policy, planning frameworks, change management , operational commissioning & decant planning with the ability to apply relevant state and local health policies & guidelines.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
