About the Opportunity 
This position will provide opportunities to lead the end-to-end management of complex, high priority programs and project which will help shape the future of health service delivery across the district.

The role provides high-level strategic, program, and project management expertise to support the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of high priority initiatives across the District.

The ideal candidate will be a trusted and collaborative leader, capable of fostering innovation and encouraging rigorous evaluation. They will promote open and respectful dialogue, support continuous learning, and build a high-performing team culture that embraces constructive change and professional growth.

What You'll be Doing
The Program Manager, Strategy and Innovation lead the end to end management of complex, high priority programs and projects that advance South Western Sydney Local Health District’s (SWSLHD) strategic priorities. The role provides high-level strategic, program, and project management expertise to support the planning and execution of a diverse portfolio of high priority initiatives across the District.

The position holder will strengthen and maintain strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and program delivery. The position offers leadership, coaching and technical advice, supporting project streams in the design, execution and evaluation of strategic activities.

  1. Relevant qualifications in a relevant field (e.g. project management, public policy, health administration) and/or equivalent professional experience in delivering strategic or health-related projects in a complex organisational setting

  2. Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering complex projects and initiatives within a large and dynamic organisation, including the ability to support strategic planning and reform activities from design through to implementation.

  3. Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with a proven ability to contribute to a high-performance, collaborative, and innovative work environment that aligns with organisational goals. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including the ability to assess complex

  4. Sound knowledge and practical experience in project management methodologies, including project planning, change management, risk management, monitoring, reporting, and evaluation to deliver projects on time and within budget.

  5. Understanding of the NSW and Australian healthcare systems, including relevant policy and planning frameworks, health priorities, and stakeholder and governance structures.

  6.  Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
