Where you'll be working
Pregnancy Family Conferencing is a relatively new program for Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD). Established in 2025 the team includes an Aboriginal Lead and Lead Facilitator who work alongside the Pregnancy Family Conferencing Coordinator to deliver the program across the Local Health District
The Opportunity
Pregnancy Family Conferencing (PFC) coordinator role is responsible for the coordination and leadership for the Pregnancy Family Conferencing program across the Local Health District including supporting the sites where Pregnancy Family Conferencing is already established and implementing the model in newer sites. The Pregnant Family Conferencing coordinator works in close partnership with Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) Pregnancy Family Conferencing coordinator to sustain and further develop the program for our District including overseeing referrals and service delivery. The HNELHD Pregnant Family Conferencing Coordinator reports to the newly appointed PARVAN Perinatal and Paediatric Program Manager. About you
Demonstrate strong leadership by effectively guiding teams and fostering collaboration to achieve shared objectives. Builds and maintains productive interagency partnerships through skilled negotiation, relationship management, and a collaborative approach. Communicates clearly and confidently with a wide range of stakeholders, adapting messaging to suit different audiences and situations and applies strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify practical solutions, manage complex issues, and support informed decision-making.
Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in social work, social science or related field meeting Health Professional Award Classification for social work.
- Current drivers license and with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.

- Extensive clinical experience in child protection; management of child protection cases; provision of child protection consultation to clinicians/ caseworkers.
- Proven ability to lead; initiate innovative problem solving and work collaboratively with other professionals across agencies including demonstrated leadership skills.
