Temporary Full Time 1.0 FTE for 12 months commencing August 2026
Applications are sought from suitable candidates for the position of Post Graduate Fellow in Reconstructive Head, Neck and Skull Base Surgery at John Hunter Hospital.
The successful applicant will provide care to patients under the supervision and guidance of consultant staff whilst undertaking a comprehensive post graduate fellowship training program in Head and Neck Reconstructive and Skull Base Surgery.
You will have broad experience in ENT Head and Neck Surgery enabling you to be involved in teaching of registrars and of registrars and to pursue more complex learnings including microvascular free flaps.
Applicants must:
- Be a current medical practitioner eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA and hold Fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in ENT/Head and Neck Surgery and/or overseas trained specialist pathways.
- International Medical Graduates who are overseas trained specialists must be assessed by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and as a result, gain limited registration with AHPRA on a specialist pathway satisfactory to the college, AHPRA and HNELHD prior to commencement.
Mandatory requirements of the role include: - The provision of contemporary and professional high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in ENT/Head and Neck Surgery at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow.
- Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement, clinical audit and administrative activities within the department at John Hunter Hospital
- Attendance and availability during rostered work hours whilst on-call including handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD
