Role Title:        Policy Officer (Privacy)

About this role

This is a fast-paced role within the Regulation and Compliance Unit that supports the privacy governance framework across the NSW Health system. It is responsible for raising the awareness, capacity and capability in privacy management within the Ministry of Health and, more broadly, across the NSW Health system.

 

Crown Clerk 7/8, salary from $113,574 - $125,720 plus Super and annual leave loading.

What you'll be doing

Reporting to the Principal Policy Officer, you’ll provide general policy advice on personal and health information privacy issues and privacy governance issues, conduct preliminary reviews of privacy-related complaints, and provide initial advice on the nature of the concerns raised and next steps.

 

You will advise and support the design of effective privacy policies, training materials and programs and contribute to the development and distribution of supporting templates, tools and other resources.

 

Critical to your success, you will develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including with Ministry and health service staff, and the NSW Information and Privacy Commission, to assist and advise on personal and health information privacy.

 

About you

We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who have a demonstrated understanding of personal and health information privacy, including the application of relevant legislation.
