About this role
Are you passionate about making a difference to maternal and neonatal health and wellbeing outcomes and experiences of care in NSW in a dynamic policy environment?

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Policy Officer to contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic policies and programs for the Ministry of Health, and public health organisations.

  • Employment Type: Full Time, Ongoing
  • 35 hour working week, in a hybrid working environment
  • Crown Clerk 7/8, salary from $110,266 - $118,296 p.a. (plus Super and annual leave loading)

What you'll be doing
The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to policy development, evaluation activities and projects/programs for the Ministry of Health and related agencies to support the achievement of NSW Health’s objectives, with a particular focus on maternity strategic policies.
  • Assist in preparing high quality written reports, briefs, correspondence, and cabinet documents to inform decision making or respond to agency or Government requests.
  • Provide effective support to projects/programs within the portfolio to ensure outcomes and/or expectations are achieved.
  • Effectively communicate with key staff in the Ministry, public health organisations and other stakeholders to maintain knowledge of and collaborate on matters relevant to the health and social policy portfolio.


About you 
We are seeking motivated and committed individuals with:

  • Demonstrated relevant experience in the area of health and social policy and/or relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of advice in a multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse stakeholders to deliver on policy and program/project areas.
