About you and where you will be working

Join the SNF Plus Pilot and make a meaningful difference to children and families across Greater Newcastle.

Based at Wallsend, you’ll be part of an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team supporting vulnerable families. You’ll bring your expertise to weekly case reviews, provide clinical consultation, and work directly with families through home visits and telehealth.

With outreach across the Greater Newcastle area, this is an opportunity to use your skills in a collaborative, family-centred service where your expertise can make a real difference

About you

Ready to be part of something exciting? We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Physiotherapist who wants to make a difference during the critical early years.

You’ll use a family-centred approach to support infant and child development, movement, motor skills and participation in everyday activities—working alongside families to build confidence and achieve meaningful outcomes.

You’ll be supported by an experienced Child and Family Health and Allied Health team, with orientation provided on commencement. Ongoing mandatory education requirements apply.

Requirements

Holds qualifications recognised for registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia and holds general registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia/AHPRA  

Eligibility to drive in NSW and willingness and ability to travel for work purposes

Patient-centre care Referral and client care co-ordination Extensive experience in paediatric clinical services including assessment, planning and evaluating physiotherapy interventions in working with children aged 0-2 years presenting with a variety of developmental difficulties/diagnoses. Previous experience providing physiotherapy services to adult clients will be highly regarded.
 

Demonstrated capacity to provide clinical consultation in partnership with the child and family health nurse and facilitate case review, in the context of family centred casework within a community based multidisciplinary team.
 

Demonstrated ability to provide information, advice and education to clients, carers and other professionals including anticipatory guidance, treatment intervention, and management strategies to promote optimal development of the child.
