Level 4 Spinal Cord Injury Physiotherapist

Responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering expert physiotherapy services to patients with spinal cord injuries, ensuring the highest standards of compassionate, evidence-based care.

The Role

Plan, coordinate, and implement high levels of clinical expertise and specialised knowledge in order to provide high quality Physiotherapy care to patients of the Physiotherapy Facility consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards. 

Where You'll be Working

Prince of Wales Hospital and Community Health Service is a Level 6 Tertiary Referral Hospital with an inpatient bed base of 370. Each year we care for more than 70,000 patients in our Emergency Department and have around 50,000 admissions to the inpatient units. POWH offers an outpatient service and rural outreach service and provides more than 900,000 occasions of non-admitted patient care each year, including innovative virtual models of care. We have transitioned the majority of inpatient units and wards to the Acute Services Building (ASB) including a state of the art Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit. POWH provides an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person-centred care.

Selection Criteria

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the below questions as thoroughly as possible.

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and The Physiotherapy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  2. Extensive post graduate clinical experience in [insert clinical specialty field]
  3. Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels
  4. Proven ability to provide high level clinical advice and education to enhance service delivery and to guide and support others in providing service excellence
  5. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature
  6. Ability to initiate, lead, complete and share quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff
  7. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning
  8. Current unrestricted Driver's licence, valid in NSW
