This is an opportunity to join The Children's Hopsital at Westmead Physiotherapy Department. We currently have both permanent and temporary roles available. The successful applicant will have skills and experience in respiratory physiotherapy and work on evenings, weekends or in our HITH weekend service. We will also be establishing an eligiiblity list for future after hours opportunities. Further details regarding exact shift lengths and patterns are available on request.
What you'll be doing
The Physiotherapist will provide clinical services to inpatients and/or outpatients as determined by the particular role or rotation. The Physiotherapist will provide evidence based care within a multidisciplinary and family centred context. Participation is required in ongoing education, teaching, evidence based practice and quality improvement activities.
The Level 1/2 Physiotherapist will contribute to:
• Planning, development and evaluation of the service.
• Development, implementation and evaluation of policies, practices and patient care both within the hospital and wider afield.
• Liaison with community based services relevant to the patient population.

- Recognised qualification in Physiotherapy and current Australian Physiotherapy registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Postgraduate paediatric physiotherapy experience relevant to the tertiary, acute care setting.
- Clinical experience in cardiothoracic and orthopaedic physiotherapy, preferably with experience with casting and splinting.
- Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, (including negotiation and conflict resolution skills).
- Proven success in multidisciplinary team settings and the ability to work independently when required
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills with an ability to work flexibly within clinical and administrative service demands.
- Strong commitment to ongoing professional development and active involvement in quality improvement and/or research activities.
