Where You’ll Be Working
Our Physiotherapy service provides care across Medical, Surgical (General and Orthopaedic), Paediatrics, Maternity, ICU and Emergency Department, along with a busy Orthopaedic/Fracture Clinic and Outpatient Physiotherapy service. The team consists of 14 Physiotherapists and two Physiotherapy Assistants (job-sharing a full-time role), delivering seven-day ward and ED coverage, including a weekend service for clinically prioritised patients. The Maitland Physiotherapy team works closely within a multidisciplinary model and maintains strong collegiate relationships across Physiotherapy and Allied Health services within the Lower Hunter Sector. The culture is supportive, collaborative and clinically focused.
About the Role
This role will see you manage an allocated clinical caseload, delivering evidence-based physiotherapy assessment and intervention. You will collaborate with senior clinicians when required and actively participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary team meetings and family meetings. This role offers exposure to a diverse range of acute presentations, providing an excellent opportunity to build your clinical skills in a dynamic hospital environment.

Requirements:
- Physiotherapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA
Support and Development
You will receive structured supervision from the Level 4 ICU Physiotherapist and Level 3 Surgical/Hand Physiotherapist, along with additional identified supervisors through the Clinical Supervision Program. The role is line managed by the Level 6 Physiotherapist (LHS/Site Senior – Maitland and Dungog Hospital). Comprehensive orientation will be provided across both sites and the broader Lower Hunter Sector Physiotherapy service.
