About the Role
The opportunity exists for a suitably qualified candidate to become the Pharmacy Stores Purchasing Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. This position sits under the direction of the Senior Pharmacist, Inventory control, and the Director of Pharmacy. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the Stores Team responsible for procurement of medicines for the hospital, account management and safe, timely and efficient distribution of medicines around the facility. The candidate will be a demonstrated effective communicator and have a high level of organisational skills.

Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of legislative requirements pertaining to drug procurement and supply with demonstrated thorough understanding of purchasing practices and inventory management from recent experience.
- Experience with pharmacy dispensing software for inventory management and ability to use computer systems for generating reports, managing spread sheets and data entry.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to consult, negotiate and liaise effectively with pharmacy department staff and external stakeholders (pharmacy wholesalers,HealthShare Managers, pharmaceutical companies).
- Ability to provide leadership and collaboratively manage a small team.
