About the role:
Intern Pharmacists rotate through a range of clinical and operational areas across the department, gaining broad exposure to hospital pharmacy practice. A structured intern training program is provided to support the completion of all Intern Training Program (ITP) requirements while developing the knowledge, skills, and confidence required for a successful career in hospital pharmacy. Interns are encouraged to actively participate in departmental programs and initiatives, with opportunities to contribute to areas such as antimicrobial stewardship, tertiary referral paediatrics, and pharmacy production services. Through a combination of clinical and operational experiences, interns will build a strong foundation in delivering safe, effective, and patient-centred pharmacy services.

John Hunter Hospital is a leading tertiary referral and teaching hospital in Newcastle, currently undergoing significant redevelopment to support the growing needs of our community. As the busiest Emergency Department in the state and the major trauma centre for Northern NSW, the hospital provides care for patients across all stages of life. Requirements
Participate in weekend, public holiday and after hour's rosters and do overtime as required.
