About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
 
The opportunity exists for an unregistered Pharmacist to complete a Pharmacy Internship within the Sydney Local Health District at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The successful applicant will join the dynamic Pharmacy Department and work under the guidance of an experienced clinical pharmacy preceptor in order to meet the requirements for registration as a Pharmacist in Australia.  

Sydney Local Health District provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to the residents of the inner west of Sydney and has specialised areas of practice including organ transplantation, cardiology haematology, oncology and Mental Health. The district is a leader in clinical research and adoption of novel strategies to improve patient care.

Ideal Candidate

  • Eligibility to undertake a period of supervised practice as a pharmacy intern according to the requirements of the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
  • Enrolment in a Pharmacy Board approved Intern Training Program prior to commencement of the Internship.
  • Excellent knowledge of pharmacology and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a team member.
  • Highly developed problem solving ability and demonstrated initiative.
