What you will bring to the role
- Practice in accordance with legislation, common law, Registered Nurse/Midwife Standards for Practice, the Code of Professional Conduct and maintain registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Demonstrate knowledge and apply the skills required of a Registered Midwife in contemporary midwifery practice, including knowledge and understanding of appropriate equipment, legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Knowledge in the development and evaluation of antenatal education program based on adult learning principles
- Experience in educating and supporting new parents across the Maternity continuum including Breastfeeding education
- Effectively communicate with patients, consumers, carers, and the multidisciplinary health care team to ensure the provision of safe, compassionate quality care.
- Working knowledge of a range of computer applications and the ability to use an online platform to deliver classes including PowerPoint
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice
- Ability to work independently and be highly motivated, creative, and innovative. Demonstrate high level analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise initiative and judgement in providing advice on sensitive matters
