Based at Newcastle Community Health Centre in Newcastle West, this is a permanent part-time opportunity working 16 hours per week on Mondays and Thursdays, with flexibility to work a rotating roster viewed favourably.
About the role
As a Contact Centre Administration Officer, you'll be the first point of contact for patients accessing public dental services. Working in a supportive team, you'll manage a high volume of inbound calls while delivering professional, empathetic customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting telephone triage using established assessment tools to determine patient priority.
- Scheduling appointments and managing waiting lists using electronic booking systems.
- Responding to general enquiries about public dental services.
- Accurately recording patient information while navigating multiple computer systems.
- Completing a variety of administrative tasks during quieter periods as directed by the Contact Centre Manager.
About you
We're looking for someone who is calm under pressure, enjoys helping others, and can confidently manage multiple tasks while providing exceptional customer service.
You'll bring:
- Experience in an inbound contact centre or a busy medical or dental reception environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive or challenging conversations professionally and respectfully.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Confidence using Microsoft Outlook and working within Windows-based computer systems.
- The ability to follow established procedures while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

You'll be mentored while building confidence taking calls and will have ongoing access to experienced shift supervisors for guidance and support. You'll also complete Corporate and site orientation as part of your induction, ensuring you have everything you need to succeed.
