What you'll be doing
As an Operations Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting medical and nursing teams to deliver safe, patient‑centred care across the Operating Suite and High Dependency Units.
Assist with the safe transfer and positioning of patients
Deliver compassionate, person‑centred support to patients and families
Clean, prepare and maintain operating rooms, equipment and instruments
Transport equipment and patients between theatre, recovery and HDU
Work flexibly across a rotating 24/7 roster in a fast‑paced environment
Applications are sought for the role of Operations Assistants, for Westmead Operating Suites, a tertiary referral trauma centre with 24 operating rooms. The position is responsible for patient transport before and after procedures and positioning for surgery and includes ensuring operating tables and positioning devices are cleaned, maintained and applied using appropriate manual handling techniques, to support elective and emergency surgery. As well as collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to provide safe patient care. Previous applicants need not re-apply

Ability to demonstrate experience in patient transportation and positioning within an Operating Suite and ability to adapt to the demands of a Perioperative environment.
Sound knowledge of Operating Suite equipment and maintenance.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety and Manual handling principles and requirements.
Proven ability to communicate with a variety of patients, staff, and managers.
Demonstrated experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.
