John Hunter Hospital's Surgical Service is the leading tertiary referral centre for Hunter New England Health. With 15 operating theatres, 11 wards, and 14 specialty departments, we provide critical trauma and complex surgical care not available anywhere else in the region.

Behind every successful surgery is a dedicated team of administrative professionals ensuring everything runs smoothly. Now, we’re looking for an organised, proactive, and team-focused Administration Officer to join our high-performing team in the Day Surgery Unit and Operating Suite.

As an Administration Officer, you’ll play a key role in supporting surgical operations by:

  • Managing patient bookings and theatre lists

  • Maintaining accurate and timely patient records

  • Coordinating communication between clinical teams and departments

  • Supporting the efficient flow of information to enable safe, high-quality care

This is a fast-paced and rewarding environment where your organisational skills and attention to detail will directly impact patient outcomes.
