The Oncology Biobank Manager (OBM) manages the infrastructure and operational processes required for tissue banking of tumour and blood samples from oncology patients treated within the ISLHD region. The OBM will liaise with all stakeholders including oncologists, pathologists, surgeons, theatres and researchers to ensure effective and efficient recruitment, collection, processing and storage of samples and related clinical data.

 

The ISLHD Biobank is part of the CONCERT Biobank at the Ingham Institute and is partly funded by the NSW Cancer Institute. This role will require close collaboration with the CONCERT Biobank. The OBM will ensure compliance with all ethics and regulatory requirements. This position exists within ISLHD Cancer Division but is cooperates closely with the pathology service and operating theatres for the purpose of collection, processing and storage of tissue samples.
