This is a Level 3 position. However, if there are no appropriate Level 3 applicants, applications from Level 1 and 2 will be considered. The selection criteria reflects the requirements for a Level 3 applicant. Responses from Level 1 or 2 applicants need to demonstrate their level of competence with regard to the same criteria and their ability to work towards Level 3. The expected performance of the incumbent will be commensurate with his/her years of experience and current level at commencement of appointment. The incumbent will work towards meeting the criteria for Level 3.

Join the New England Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service (NEBIRS), a specialist community-based rehabilitation service located on the grounds of Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.

About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for an Occupational Therapist to join a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting adults living with brain injury across the northern region of Hunter New England Local Health District.
In this role, you will deliver evidence-based occupational therapy and case management services within a community rehabilitation setting. Working closely with clients, families, and healthcare professionals, you will develop and coordinate rehabilitation programs that promote independence, participation, and quality of life.
You will also contribute to the Transitional Living Unit, supporting clients to develop everyday living skills and achieve meaningful rehabilitation goals in a practical, real-world environment.

About you
You are a dedicated Occupational Therapist who is committed to delivering person-centred care and achieving positive outcomes for clients.
You will bring:
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to establish effective therapeutic partnerships with clients and families
- Experience in, or a genuine interest in, rehabilitation and case management
- Well-developed clinical reasoning and risk assessment capabilities
- A collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams
- An understanding of community-based healthcare and rehabilitation services
Requirements:
- Occupational Therapist with current Authority to Practice with AHPRA.
- Current eligibility to drive in NSW and the ability and willingness to travel for work purposes which may involve driving long distances.

All payments to part-time and contract employees will be made on a pro-rata basis in accordance with the terms of your contract, including any approved extensions.
