We are a supportive department focused on person centered, compassionate care, and strive to provide consistent high quality occupational therapy services across the campus. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated occupational therapist to be appointed to a Level 1-2 position within our department. Offering a huge variety of rotational opportunities through aged care, general surgical, general medical, oncology/haematology, respiratory, cardiology/vascular, ortho-trauma, neurosurgery/trauma, neurology, rehab, and community occupational therapy services, you can guarantee your clinical skill set will be challenged, broadened and enhanced . You will be supported and led by highly experienced and competent Level 3 Occupational Therapists, and our Acute Team Leader and Professional Educator. We also support a thorough program of continuous professional development, protected non clinical time, leadership development opportunities and career progression pathways.

The Role

South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is committed to improving the care provided to our patients in line with our vision of Working together to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

As a Level 1-2 Occupational Therapist you will be expected to plan, coordinate and deliver high quality occupational therapy care to patients consistent with South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.

Please note that participating in our weekend roster is an expectation of this position.

Selection Criteria

  1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and Current Registration with AHPRA.
  2. Demonstrated core competency skills relevant to the facility and the occupational therapy service.
  3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery.
  4. Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgement on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience.
  5. Computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems.
  6. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and evidence based practice and a commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.
  7. Current Class C Drivers Licence
