What you'll be doing
 The position of Nurse Unit Manager exists within the Mental Health Drug and Alcohol (MHDA) Services at Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH).   
  
The position is located within the Mental Health Unit at NBH Level 3. 
  
The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) Level 3 will manage a unit or ward in order to provide a quality standard of care to NSLHD MHDA consumers. 
  
The position will report directly to the Acute Inpatient Manager NBH Mental Health and is responsible for the mental health unit, its day to day operations, bed flow, workforce, financial and operational budgets and meeting key performance indicators. 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and at least three years in the specialty of mental health nursing with a management qualification or significantly working towards same.
  2. Proven ability to provide leadership, manage resources and lead change effectively across a complex service with a wide variety of stakeholders.
  3. Advanced knowledge and skill in patient flow systems, legislation, policy and procedures, with the ability to meet bed management and patient flow objectives across acute mental health settings.
