Bankstown Hospital’s Medical/Surgical Ward is seeking a passionate Nurse Unit Manager to lead our dynamic and supportive team. What you'll be doing

As Nurse Unit Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the ward, providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to nursing staff. You’ll work closely with our full-time Clinical Nurse Educator to ensure ongoing education and foster a positive, learning-driven atmosphere. You will also collaborate with our dedicated auxiliary staff, including Clinical Support Officers and Ward Clerks, to maintain the efficient functioning of the ward.

The Nursing Unit Manager (NUM) is in-charge of all aspects of the unit environment and takes overall responsibility for the standard of patient care in the unit. The NUM is pivotal to the coordination of patient care, unit management and leadership to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources.

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
