Achieve Something Great
South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Mental Health Service is seeking a passionate and experienced Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to lead our Adolescent Mental Health Unit at Campbelltown Hospital.

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact in the lives of young people and their families by guiding a dedicated multidisciplinary team that values safety, consumer advocacy, and recovery focused mental health care. As the unit’s nursing leader, you will shape the clinical environment, inspire excellence, and champion innovative models of care that support the wellbeing of adolescents experiencing complex mental health needs.

You will play a pivotal part in coordinating care, fostering a positive team culture, and driving quality improvement initiatives within a supportive and progressive local health district that is committed to its vision of Leading Care, Healthier Communities. Professional development is actively encouraged and supported.

If you are looking for an opportunity to lead a dynamic service, influence positive change, and strengthen mental health outcomes for young people, we would love to hear from you.

Are You the Right Fit?
The ideal candidate is an experienced nurse leader with strong clinical knowledge and a commitment to safe, person centred mental health care for young people.

You will bring:

  • Proven leadership experience managing staff and clinical services in a mental health or similar setting.
  • Effective resource management skills to ensure safe and efficient use of staffing, budget, and equipment.
  • Clear and confident communication with adolescents, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong critical thinking, using evidence based practice to guide care and service improvements.
  • Ability to manage performance and resolve conflict professionally. Commitment to safety, quality, and compliance, including risk management and WHS.
  • Professional conduct aligned with NSW Health values and Code of Conduct.

This role suits someone who is proactive, supportive, and passionate about leading a positive team culture and improving outcomes for young people.
