About the Opportunity
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of Renal services in Deniliquin. In managing your nursing team, you will take a proactive role in overseeing and driving continuous improvement initiatives, to strengthen service delivery, and achieve improved health outcomes for patients.
As the Nurse Unit Manager, you will:
Provide clinical leadership to the nursing team to ensure the exceptional delivery of evidence-based care within contemporary models of practice. Ensure governance processes are in place, including timely and appropriate responses to incidents, complaints, and risk management.
Lead and manage processes that drive quality outcomes, ensure patient safety, and support continuous improvement—demonstrated through the achievement of key performance indicators, outcome measures, patient and staff surveys, and audit results
Manage the efficient use and coordination of physical and financial resources to maximise expenditure toward health outcomes and ensure plans are in place to promote business continuity and avoid potential service disruptions
Lead with purpose by motivating and managing teams, applying change management to address challenges in community and rural health service delivery.

About You
Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Current authority to practice unrestricted as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a healthcare setting.
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care setting and demonstrated experience in renal nursing, with experience and skill in venipuncture and cannulation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build therapeutic relationships with individuals, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and evaluate person-centred care plans, and deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
