What you'll be doing
As Nurse Unit Manager – Intensive Care Services, you’ll oversee the operational and clinical leadership of the unit, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient care delivery. You’ll lead and mentor nursing staff, manage resources effectively, and drive improvements in patient outcomes and service delivery.
Lead, coordinate, and evaluate patient care across intensive care services
Ensure the highest standards of nursing practice and patient safety
Manage staffing, budgets, and operational performance efficiently
Foster a culture of learning, accountability, and professional growth
Champion innovation, research, and evidence-based practice in critical care

Essential Criteria:
Registration: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (NSW Registered Nurse – Division 1)
Selection Criteria:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in management and/or specialty, or working towards attainment in same, or extensive management experience in the field that demonstrates ability to perform the role.
Recent relevant clinical and management experience deemed appropriate by WSLHD
Demonstrated recent experience and understanding of financial management and accountabilities in relation to stock and effective budget utilisation.
Demonstrated application of evidence based practice and critical thinking to patient care
Demonstrated ability to lead change that results in sustained improvements in patient care, throughput and resource utilisation.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated conflict resolution experience.
